Hey reader,
There’s an update to the LanguageJones Etymology nerd drama that I somehow missed last edition. You’ll find that below.
In other news, Olly Richards released his thoughts on using flashcards at a high level to learn vocabulary.
Enjoy!

💻From around the web
I missed this in my last edition, but, an update to the LanguageJones Etymology nerd drama, with Etymologynerd posting a response video.
In it, he basically claims LanguageJones nit-picked him while failing to engage properly with his overall thesis.
I can see both sides, with LanguageJones making some valid critiques, and some poor ones (others I can’t assess without deep diving myself, which I don’t care to do). Etymologynerd’s response addresses some of it, but ignores some pretty big criticisms I would not categorise as nit-picks.
I wonder what LanguageJones thinks of that reply. I doubt we’ll be getting a public reply, so that’s probably it for this one!
Till next time!
